This homologation states whether a flip-up helmet (modular helmet) can be used closed or open. P Homologation (protective) - The helmet is approved as a full-face helmet P/J Homologation - The helmet has a double homologation (protective/jet) if the helmet only has a P approval, it may only be ridden closed, i.e. with the chin section folded down or tucked in. With P/J approval, you have a free choice.
PIM Evo Shell - HJC
Premium Integrated Matrix / P.I.M. EVO: Reinforcement materials, including carbon aramid hybrid and natural fibre, provide improved impact resistance, more comfort and lightness of the helmet.
PIM Plus Schale - HJC
Reinforcement materials, including carbon and carbon glass hybrid fabric, provide improved impact resistance for a more comfortable and lightweight helmet.
Polyamid
Polyamide fibres are particularly tear and abrasion resistant, as well as extremely elastic and stretchy. Polyamide also absorbs little moisture, is therefore particularly quick-drying and very tear-resistant and durable both wet and dry. These properties, especially the minimal water absorption, give polyamides their very high dimensional stability. The polyamide fabric releases the water directly back into the surrounding air. The lightweight fabric (lighter than silk) is considered mothproof, but does not tolerate high temperatures very well.
Polyester
Chemically speaking, polyester is a polymer with an ester compound in the main chain. In common parlance, polyester is a plastic that can be used in many different ways. The best-known application is probably the PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottle. However, polyesters are also processed into synthetic fibres and are therefore used in the textile industry. The most important properties of polyester are: High light and weather resistance Extremely fine (three times finer than silk) Hardly stretchable Little absorption of water. This keeps polyester clothing dry for a long time. Very crease-resistant and dimensionally stable Very abrasion-resistant and easy to clean
PrimaLoft® insulating material
This synthetic insulation material mimics the warmth-providing properties of down, but in a hypoallergenic form. And unlike down, the material originally developed for the U.S. Army does not absorb water, is easy to pack and lightweight. The fabric itself has millions of air pockets that trap and retain body heat. This also makes it ideal as a base layer and a perfect match for motorbike clothing.
